Voronezh State Medical University

Voronezh State Medical University stands as one of Russia’s premier medical institutions, located near Moscow. Its roots trace back to the establishment of Dorpat University in 1802, which later moved to Voronezh in 1918. The university’s medical journey began in 1903 with the creation of an autonomous medical institute within Voronezh University’s medical faculty. Over the years, it expanded with the addition of faculties like pediatrics, dentistry, and a faculty for medical specialists and practicing doctors in 1983.

The university gained international recognition for its medical degrees, leading to the inception of an international faculty for medical education in 1992. Subsequently, in 2002, it further enriched its offerings with an advanced nursing faculty and pharmaceutical departments. Achieving university status in 2015, Voronezh State Medical University solidified its reputation for providing top-tier education and spearheading scientific advancements in medicine, biology, and pharmacy.

Endorsed by the Russian Federation, the university holds recognition from key bodies such as the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Medical Council of India, and the World Health Organization (WHO). It features in WHO’s World Directory of Medical Schools, 9th Edition, underscoring its global standing.
